Stebbins Corner (where the Ashland Coffee & Tea is located today)

The corner was called Stebbins Corner and it was the biggest store around. Even after it was torn down and Paynters Store replaced it, it was still called Stebbins Corner. The awning faced railroad avenue. Along Thompson street there was a tie lot that you see here, enclosed with a picket fence. It was where people tied their horses when they came to town. Notice the old freight depot on the east side of the tracks. Notice an old Model T in front of the Stebbins awning. There is also a telephone pole right in the middle where there stands one today!
